Caring for your Christmas Tree

If you think of your Christmas Tree as a cut flower, you won’t go wrong:

  1. Choose a stand or bucket that allows you to water the tree.
  2. Trim an Inch off the base of the tree, so it can absorb water.
  3. Don’t position the tree near a fire or radiator or in the hottest room in the house.
  4. Water regularly, trees can drink up to a pint a day.

For Rooted trees:

  1. 1.Don’t position the tree near a fire or radiator or in the hottest room in the house, even with roots if the tree is too hot it will shed needles.
  2. 2. Place a plate or tray under the tree to hold water
  3. 3. Water regularly, trees can drink up to a pint a day.

Recycling your Tree

Christmas Trees can be recycled at the refuse sites around Gloucestershire.
